Hello!
This summer I'm skating in Mexico
City. In the beginning of June my coach and I was thinking about possibilities of training in
Montreal.
But up to now the training conditions in Mexico are
quite good. In my regular ice rink in the South of Mexico City the ice was not
so horrible
(lol) till July. In the whole month I have been training in a new ice
rink which is in the other side of the city (a little bit far from my home – 50
kilometres :P) There I have the possibility to train 3 hours a day or even more with
not so many people on the ice. So now I can work on my triples from 9 to 11am. I
work on my spins in the public session (and luckily I'm very careful and I
haven’t killed anybody yet!). I also have started to train in the Training Centre
of the Mexican Olympic Committee. There, after my morning practice, I work in
the gym and run.
In the next season, I probably will go to the Finlandia Trophy again and
after that competition to the Coupe of Nice.
My new free program is not ready till now, but in the next few weeks I
will work on that.
I’ll have a national competition in September here, in Mexico City.
This competition is a good start of the new season. The federation have
acquired all the new equipments of cameras, screens and technologies are
required for the new judging system. So that competition will enable me to
check if my technique (skating skills and spins) was correct!
Beside skating my life is really quite calm now (not like it was in
Moscow). I like reading a
lot and sometimes I go to have some ice-cream or coffee with my friends to a
nice neighbourhood called Polanco
-
which is half way to my home and to the ice rink.
Summer is almost over for me! Next week I'll be already at the university! :/ But only 3 more semesters and I will finish my studies!!!!!!!! I' m happy that I can study and skate in the same time, I know, not too
much people have the same possibility! I always think nothing is impossible in
life (or in skating or love); if you REALLY want something, the obstacles cannot
be too big. You just have to face them without doubts or fear, a strong
character with a good plan can do it!
Will write again before my competitions,
Take care,
Andriuxa

Hello everybody!!!
Sorry I haven't written anything since I left Moscow! The national
Championship, the comeback to Mexico and my 70 kgs luggage (I brought from Moscow) engrossed my time!
The national championship wasn't so good for me, because I finished only third. Because of my injury I could start to jump my
triples again only one week before the Nationals. At the competition of course I didn't
make my programs with all the triples as we planed it before, in Russia. I was still
afraid of broking my bone again - however I haven't had as big pains as before. I'm still
having some therapies here in Mexico. 2 more weeks and I hope that everything
will be ok again. After these 14 days I have to have a final X-RAY test on my foot to check if it
was totally recovered or not.
And now you can check also the photos of the National Championship! Helga asked me
about the stories of the costume....
Well.. I made them in Moscow. It took quite a
LOOOONNNG time to make them... Almost 3 months... And I had about 10 appointment with my costume designer!!! But it was worth
to wait so long, I like very much my new
costumes.

Now I'm looking forward to my skating (as always) to the university. I will study
at least one more semester here in Mexico before I will go back to train to
Russia. I switched coach, my former coach recommended him, but of course, the final decision was mine.
I can't skate longer in the ice rink where I was training one year
before, here in Mexico.. Now it's clear
that it is not possible to train there if I wanted to get correct skating skills. But switching ice rink is not as easy here
as in other countries.
There isn't enough free ice, especially with good conditions where I could train. However
I was lucky and I managed to have ice time somewhere. But I will be train in
two different ice rinks and with two different coaches. One of them is a German coach,
Michael Hopfes and the another one is Russian (but I still haven't decided about who he will be).
Nowadays both skating techniques are quite similar and there
won't be problems about mixing them.
Now is time to go back working after my injury and I'm optimistic. I
think everything will be ok in the future - If I work hard. I Will write
again! Take care!

A report from Adrian:
Everybody now is ready and prepared with all their programs for the new
season. There are lots of skaters who will go to international competitions. Vova Uspenski is going to go to Junior Grand Prix competition and his brother, Sasha to Senior Grand Prix.
And well, I plan to go to Finlandia Trophy in October. It's a lot of preparation, because it is hard to organize competitions with my federation, as I'm in Moscow.
Anyway I hope everything will be solved in time.
In my plans there is also 2 more competitions. Maybe one in Belorussia and the Coupe Internacionale de Nice. This last one will be only 1 week before the National Championship in Mexico, in November.
jump and step technique are progressing a lot and I jump my triples easier
and easier.
My programs and all the choreography are finished but I just need to
land all the jumps together. Now we have mixed trainings, one to achieve all these jumps, and these trainings we go to run, 20 and 30 minutes everyday
to get better physical condition for the long program.
Few weeks before I saw the Russian countryside for the first time. It is
really beautiful and huge, no end of woods! Maksim one of the
skaters in Moskvich invited me to his dacha and we spend a great time there! And
I suggest everyone to try the Russian bania (sauna) because it's really relaxing. Moscow
is getting colder again. But I like it because in Mexico we had sunny days everyday and for me it is not so exiting anymore! Now it is raining
and it's better for me.

A report from Adrian: Privet!
Well, now I train in the Moskvich. In the ice rink where Ilia Klimkin and
the
Uspenki brothers train too. My coach is Olga Markova here in Moscow, but I
also took
some lessons from Viktor Nikolaevits Kudriatsev. I am very happy and I
feel that I'm really lucky to have this possibility to train here. Thanks
to these trainings my
jump and step tecnique are progressing a lot and I jump my triples easier
and easier.
The ice is good too. The skaters are very good here and I learn
a lot from them.
I have met lots of very nice people. Moscow is a beautiful city, history
everywhere, the theaters, museums... I also take Russian language courses
in the Lomonosov University, four hours a day, and now I don't fell so
lost when I have to ask information, nor in
the restaurants when I order. And also the winter is over!
Andrei :) Adrian
Second report:
I have been in the Alexandrovsky Sad (Alexander Garden) and you are right,
it is so beautiful. I love the lost soldier monument. Russian people are
very friendly! I live near to the metro of Akademicheskaya, it is 10-15
minutes on foot. It is quite far from Moskvich so I go by metro, and it is
40 minutes to the rink. It is like in Mexico, so not so difficult for me.
I live with a Russian family now. Normally I would live in the Lomonosov
Universitym but now they don't have place.
bye,
Adrian 07.02.2006

A report from Adrian:
Hi everybody, In whole December I’ve been training in
Vienna, Austria. I arrived to Vienna on 5th of December because I wanted
to train there in singles and also in icedance. :) In this September,
before the Ondrej Nepela Memorial I met a Slovakian girl who asked me if I
would want to try icedance with her. At the first time I was very
surprised about this offer. But then I started to think about it, and that
it really would be a good idea to try it.
So I have come back to Europe as soon as I finished my exams in Mexico and
we started train together. The exercises we do, as well as the whole work,
are very interesting. And not only interesting but very useful in
improving my skating skills (what I need for being a good a skater) The
trainings are quite tiring but I thought before that it would be worst.
And I also have a little time to going out with my friend I have here,
like Andrea Kreuzer, who is the Austrian National Champion. We have had
great time together with walking on the Christmas markets and having some
hot drinks to survive the European Winter ( in Mexico the average
temperature is about 20 Celsius grade). Vienna is a very beautiful city
with very rich history. When I don’t train I sleep or go out and do
sightseeing. I have been in the Stephans Dom, in the Albertina Museum and
I have tasted the delicious Sacher torte in the Sacher Hotel. I am going
to go back to Mexico on the 17th of January, so I still have some weeks
here. And still I have some training, and the big question – if the
icedance could be good for me or not. I think that however it would be
quite hard but it is a very seductive offer.
Regards: Adrian Thank you very much Adrian for the report
and have a good time besides practicing in Vienna!

A message/news from Adrian:
Last week I had a special skating course with Valentin Nikolaev. He was the coach of Viacheslav Zagorodniuk. He came from the USA to Mexico to give there an one week long course. I have had a quite hard week, especially in my off-ice trainings. But I learnt a lot! His technique about triple jumps is very interesting and I think it will help me a lot in improving my jumps. We also watched videos and learnt lots of jump combinations and step sequences. I will continue the work with lots of his exercises to get better results. And in the middle of November we will have our National Championship. If I am right, there will be six guys in the senior field. I must work a lot on my consistency not only in practises but in competitions too. If I get that, I think I could win the championship. The top three skaters will go the the 4 Continents, which will be held in Colorado Springs.
Thank you Adrian and Good Luck in the Nationals! Fingers crossed for you!
