Aliona Savchenko – Robin Szolkowy (GER)

Aliona : It wasn’t perfect but right now we want to enjoy the medals. The first time wining the title was surprising and that was nice, to be honest. This is also great, but different.

Robin : The performance was quite good, not perfect, but good, I think that’s it. It was the second time we scored over 200 points. The first time was at German Nationals, but Nationals have their own laws. This time it counts. Points are not the most important for us, more important is that we skate well, to have the feeling that we skated really well. Points don’t count for us.

Maria Mukhortova – Maxim Trankov (RUS)

Maxim : This is our first European’s and we won the silver medal. We didn’t skate well - there were some mistakes. I don’t know what happened with our throws. Maria usually never falls. Maybe we were nervous and focused on our jumps. At the moment the jumps aren’t easy elements for us . Maybe we concentrated more on the jumps and we were too relaxed for the throws. We are not happy with our skating but we are happy with our result. We are happy to be the first Russian pair - that’s important for us.

What do you need to beat Savchenko – Szolkowy in the future?
Maxim: We already beat them and we know what we have to do in order to beat them again. We have to skate clean and not only for one season. The judges need to believe in the team Mukhortova/Trankov and start giving us better marks. Then I think it’s possible to beat them.

Yuko Kawaguchi – Alexander Smirnov (RUS)

Yuko : These are our first European’s and we’re happy with the bronze medal, but we made mistakes in the short and long program. We have something to work on for the next competition.

What do you need to beat Savchenko – Szolkowy in the future?

Yuko: I’m not sure what we have to do to beat another pair, but our coach, Tamara Moskvina knows, so we just have to listen to her.
